How to Reset a Galaxy S24.

Learn how to soft reset (reboot without losing files), factory reset via the Settings application, or hard reset your Galaxy S24 using hardware button combinations inside Android Recovery or iOS DFU mode.

Soft Reset (Force Restart)

Step 1Hold Power + Volume Down for 10-15 seconds

Keep holding until the phone vibrates and restarts. Fixes unresponsive screens.

Factory Reset via Settings

Step 1Settings -> General Management -> Reset

Scroll down and tap General Management.

Step 2Tap "Factory Data Reset"

Review the account lists and tap Reset.

Step 3Enter PIN/pattern to confirm

The phone will clear and restart.

Factory Reset via Recovery Mode (Forgotten PIN)

⚠️ Warning: Erases all user data. Google Factory Reset Protection (FRP) triggers on reboot. You must log in with the previously synced Google account. See our Samsung FRP unlock guide if locked.

Step 1Power off completely

Wait 30 seconds. Connect your phone to a PC with a USB cable (required for newer Android security).

Step 2Hold Volume Up + Power simultaneously

Release when the Samsung logo appears and wait for the Android Recovery menu.

Step 3Select "Wipe data/factory reset"

Use Volume keys to scroll and Power key to select.

Step 4Confirm "Factory data reset"

Select Yes. Once complete, select "Reboot system now".
